The Evil Eye Lounge (York)

The Evil Eye Lounge

A fantastic cocktail bar set on one of the cobbled high streets of York. between the spinning of bottles and screams of joy as they are caught the prices on my laminated menu look very good indeed. The place isn't overcrowded and theres short waiting times at the bar at the weekend. The layout is quite curious and will have tyou walking round in circles. Especially after a few very exotic pitchers of alcohol. A very fun place and hilarious to watch a slightly cocky barman lose a battle with a bottle of vodka to have it disintigrate upon the floor of the bar.

Not a bad word to say about it. The best little bar i came accross in York so far. Overall 9/10.

X in the City - Strip Club (Liverpool)

X in the City

This was the first Strip Club i ever went to in Liverpool was some mates for a 21st Birthday and I didnt regret it. i was a great experience.
The lights were lowly lit and dancers come up to you every few minutes asking you if you are interested in the dance. Their makeup clearly hides certain scars but they do have good figures. The club itself is £5 to get in and from £10 a dance. The bar itself is expensive but is empty most of the night to grab a drink but with a pretty poor selection. It wasn't as seedy as i expected, rather a laugh.

Overall i'd say it was a 7/10. I hope all my strip club experiences are this good!

All bar One (Canary Wharf - London)

All bar One

All Bar one is a busy cosmopolitan bar on the water front in Docklands beside the towering glass buildings of our financial center. It is a charming though perhaps cramped pub and open all day for food and wine. The problem with this place aside from the not being able to navigate around the tiny chairs and overly long tables is that the prices are too high and the waiting times are a little long. Not close to any other bars either and porbably only good for a quick one before u get on the tube.

Overall a pretty pants 3/10.

The Yorkshire Terrier (York)

The Yorkshire Terrier

The Terrier is a pretty scary Inn of a pub in a nice part of York. Should you venture here you can expect the company of old women talking about there late husbands in a very drunken manner. And who can blame them? With good cheap local ale on tap and such a friendly atmosphere who will you shock with light banter and conversation? The toilets are also satisfactory and the bar is very warm and welcoming serving the strangers above the locals in this, a welcome change of an establishment.

Overall, an undeniable 7/10

The Strutton Arms (Victoria - London)

The Strutton Arms

A bold pub set ona  cobbled street corner. This small looking pub is actually quite busy and cosy inside. this means limited seating and unfortunately long waiting times at the bar. The staff are helpful and the range of drinks is substantial (at least they do cider on tap). Other than that little else appealing. The prices are quite high and so is the food (though it looks very appetising). Not bad for a lunch but you couldnt bring your mates inside as its just too rammed.

Overall a medioca 4/10.

The Feathers (St James' Park - London)

The Feathers

The feathers is a large old school pub with fine ale and good times. The drink prices are reasonable for the area- asking a £2.50 odd per pint and more for bottles. The toilets are substantial and the waiting times at the bar are quick. The bar staff are quite friendly but don't expect a chat- this pub can get busy at weekends and being opposite the tube station its  dead quick to get to.

Overall, plain ordinary and traditional without the poison of local stares so 5/10.

Yates (Brighton)

Yates

Down the steep hills of brighton, but not quite to the beach and down the cobbled alleys of yesteryear enter you into a humbled old theatre of whose authentic cramped front entrance leads you up a spiral staircase and into theare seats lands a jaw dropping feeling in your heart as you learn this is a Yates pub. Looking down from above into the packed bar this unique seating arrangment takes some getting used to. Apart from the problem of climbing over peoples legs to reach the toilet and of course the crink in your neck from having a conversation arross four rows of seats is a difficult task.

But the bar is packed, the drinks are cheap and this venue gets a prime 7/10 for true innovation.

O'Neills -Muswell Hill (London)

O'Neills -Muswell Hill

A monument of a building, in fact a disbanded church, this is probably the most perculiar looking pub io have ever been in. On entering you are in a  huge hall which descends on a wide bar. I servign times here are slow and the floor gets quickly packed at the weekend so find yourself a seat. There is also a massive staircase which takes you up to an overlooking galley which pans the whole way around the lower hall and has its own bar, also with long waiting times. The Drinks are a brilliant price and getting drunk in a church never felt better!

Overall a blasphemic 8/10.

The Round Table (Leicester Sq - London)

The Round Table

Galavanting around the streets of Soho makes you thirsty indeed so i looked up upon nearing Leicester Square station and saw the Bright lights of "The round table". Peering into one of those little windows and it being terribley cold outside i headed in for a warm brew. A brew turned to another and wine followed at £7.35 for good ol jacobs creek (can't go wrong) and there was lots of seating desite it being a small place. It seemed rather popular with the tourists however but as they don't drink much the bar was always empty for me to occupy. Who can complain at that?

Overall 6/10. Good place to drink to avoid the prices that are at least double on everything only one road away.

Zoo Bar (Leicester Sq - London)

Zoo Bar

Zoo Bar is not really the place you head to come 9pm on a week-night. Its quiet, expensive and the music is mellow and ungiving, so why, you may ask would you go to Zoo bar at all? Well the key is in their cocktails and their happy hour which commences at 7pm on most nights and continues for an hour. A good companion to oxygen Bar which resides a little further around the corner. The crowd here, having said that is upstanding and drunkard gentlemen of young ages littering the wide dance area and its tables with foul language and unseductive glares.

So if you want to be washed in slezy looks all night take a peak but i'd recommend just popping in for the happy hour. Overall 4/10.
