Brixton Academy (Brixton - London)
Brixton Academy
Brixton is a fantastic music venue but a good bar? Well not really the best. Brixton you see, is round the corner from Brixton tube station, always easy to find because if there is an event occuring there the crowds are pouring to it and leaving is simple because the scenario reverses. Once inside you find youself looking at a large hallway that filters upstairs on two staircases either side of the cavern which leads you downstairs into the main arena. The bar is situated to your left as you enter through the doors and serve assorted drinks, watered down beer from plastic cups and extortionate bottles of water. To be fair you dont come to drink and expect to wait ages to be served- possibily the worst thing that can happen if your favourite band is on stage and your mouth feels like it has never felt the taste of water. And expensive- yes, yes indeed. Although as with all these places the large capicity toilets are a relief on the eye as well as on other things.
Overall the venue picks up the fact that it is a poor bar to leave you looking at a 6/10.
