Manchester Academy
Not the eaiest location to find if you are coming by train, you have to go out the back end of Manchester station and right up some of manchesters most deselte streets to land at this venue which sits on the edge of a roundabout. There are a few bars surrounding the venue which just feels like an old theatre and certainly does not project any notions of grandure that you would expect from the name. The place did not seem overcrowded though I had come to see the prodigy and the bouncers were quite friendly. Inside I found the bar to be a little corwded but with the traditional watered down beer and plastic cups of many large venue bars and little else but Carling on the menu. Expensive too, at about £2.50 a pint it leaves a sour taste in the mouth of any local mancurian.
Not a great place but the gig was excellent, overall a 4/10.
