The Alexander (New Barnet - London)
The Alexander
No, there are no pictures of this pub on the web and oh how I have looked. This has to be one of the weirdest layouts for a pub i have ever been into. The place is essentailly divided into two seperate wholly by the bar which is the centrepiece and punters can be served from all sides of it. The catch is that it is built on a corner and with the choice of two doors you can only get to each side by either going outside and going around or going through the bar (which you are not allowed to do). The bar persons are extremely frioendly and despite its location on the high street there are often lock-ins. There is a standard variety fo drinks available and beer is about £2 a pint. The only problem with the place is the lack of music, the old man feel of the place and the nuscence of goign outside and back in another door just to use the toilet.
Overall a rather fun night which can get a bit complicated but good prices and friendly staff- 6/10.
Please see above a very accurate map of this pub location. Do not trust other sites that put pubs in the wrong place, I have actually visited this pub and unless it has grown legs it sits exaclty where shown on the map above.
