The Salamander (Bath Town Centre - Bath)

The Salamander

A seemingly small wooden pub in the picture-esque town centre of Bath sits on a side road in what must be one of the quietest settings in the bustling village-style city. The pub displays its black woods and orange corridors with will stocked local ales and ciders, and traditional drawings mounted in fames on the walls. When we walk down this pub you here the echo of the floorboards and thudding feet among the small wooden tables and breath of the traditional and ever authentic pub atmosphere. The Salamander is populated with locals not tourists yet several drinkers are packaged like gift packs, sat eagerly waiting to be pounced on those that travel. The music is light seventies rock but it varies while maintaining the soft undertone of an old drum. Upstiars there is a waitress service and when you finally get over the age of the feel of the place you pipe up £2.60 for a local ale.

overall a pub that is either standing in this manner for tourists or is indeed authentic, old and traditional in every mannerism, if only people 200 years ago had invented more comforatble seating.. 6/10
