Guide to High Barnet
High Barnet is not the greatest place for snazzy bars but its pubs are so crammed together than they make the perfect pub crawl for any night out. Its best to get started early on in the evening at about 6pm if you intend to hit this strip at the weekend but the last places shut at about 1am. If you happen to finish up at the last pub and miss the train home the N20 nightbus stops outside the avenue and takes you right into Trafalgar Square. Fancy a kebab? Dilbers is great for that 2am snack and there is now a 24 hour food mart almost opposite- be wary that the new Chicken cottage isnt late opening like it is in town so you might want to grab your food before it gets dark if you fancy a bird for your dinner!
Barnet pretty much closes up all of its pubs by 1am at the weekend. You may expect the occasional lock-in in the Seabright or Alexandra but thats about all. The Avenue in particular closes at 12.30am at the weekend although there is a 24 hour food-mart and BP garage which will provide snacks all night long should you emerge from a private late-night party!
